Description:
Calgary Alternative Residential Services is looking for 1 female staff to provide outreach supports to a middle-aged female client living in the South area of Calgary. The successful candidate will give outreach supports including exploring and accessing community activities, assisting with banking, grocery shopping, house hunting and other day to day errands. Applicants must possess a spirit of service and be; mature, patient, flexible, willing to listen, innovative and able to negotiate hours/days of work to the mutual satisfaction of both parties (IE: client & staff).
Staff must be female, and some working knowledge of and/or experience working with anxiety disorders a requirement. A familiarity with challenges faced by individuals having a brain injury, and previous experience in providing community/outreach supports to adults with developmental disabilities is preferred. A criminal record check will also need to be provided; for safety and security purposes.
Required Education:
Diploma/Degree in Disability Studies or related field
Required Training:
Police Check, First Aid, Abuse Awareness, Crisis Prevention/Intervention, H&S, Values-Based - all courses available through CASS.
Experience:
Knowledge of community resources, including low-cost housing
Other Required Skills:
Brain injury familiarity
