The SPARK Disability Arts Festival is accepting artist applications for this year’s event. Find out more, and apply through https://www.sparkdisabilityartfestival.com/ Applications are open until September 30th, and the festival will occur on December 3rd.

The Community Mobile Food Market is a “community-driven grocery store on wheels” providing Calgarians with affordable food options. See https://yyc.rescuefood.ca/cmm-project/ to find out where the market is scheduled to be next, and for a great volunteer opportunity.

The Renfrew Aquatic and Recreation Centre has re-opened. Go check them out to see what all the renovations were about!

Sep 28: Ethnica @ Rosedale Community Hall (901 11 Ave NW) 7pm. Afrikadey Arts & Culture Society presents this free music, dance, poetry and film event.

Sep 28: AlterNATIVE: Balance @ The Plaza Theatre (1133 Kensington Road NW) 6-8pm. Films will be shown “that deal with the challenges of being able to balance tradition and contemporary practices”

Sep 28-30: Canmore Festival of Art and Creativity @ artsPlace (950 8 Ave, Canmore Ab) https://artsplacecanmore.com/community-events/details/CFAC will tell you everything you need to know about this weekend of performances, demonstrations, and cozy campfires.

Sep 29: Free Winter Clothing Event @ Deer Park United Church (77 Deerpoint Road SE) 9am-Noon. Come by and pick up free winter clothing.

Sep 12-Oct 17: Ghost Tours @ Heritage Park, 7/7:30pm. Tickets are $19.95 for an hour-1.5 hour tours around the spookiest parts of Heritage Park. Hot chocolate or coffee is included in your ticket price. www.heritagepark.ca

Sep 29: East Coast Kitchen Party @ Bowness Legion #238 (138 Bowness Centre NW) $20 for dinner and a wild, friendly night. Donations to the veteran’s food bank will be accepted.
