Hi Everyone,

Southland Leisure Centre has released their Fall Adapted Programs Schedule. There are fitness classes, drum aerobics, dancing, meditating, rock climbing, cycling, and balance classes available. Please see the attachment for more information.

The Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta has new programs coming for the fall as well, including Art Fundamentals, Music Therapy, Horticulture, a meet up group, and computer classes. Please see the attachment for all info.



Aug 13: Banff Train Conversation Club @ Banff Trail Community Association (2115 20 Ave NW) Noon-3pm. If you are a Banff Trail resident and would like to meet with other residents to snack and talk about anything and everything, you’re welcome to join this conversation café.

Aug 14: Pakistan Festival 2018 @ Olympic Plaza (228 8 Ave SE) 11am. Performance, clothes, face painting and songs.

Aug 14: YYC Free Market @ Sunnyside ContainR Site (1010 2 Ave NW) 5-8pm. Give what you can, take what you need. There will also be live experimental music.

Aug 15: Board Game Night @ Titan’s Vault Games (130 10 Brentwood Cm NW) 4:30pm-close. Bring your own games, or use store copies.

Aug 15: Elk Calling Seminar @ Jim-Bows Archery (102 620 46 Ave NE) 6:30pm. To attend you will need to register by calling the store number that you can find at

Aug 16: Tour of Inclusio @ Inclusio (1129 23 Ave NW) 2-3pm. Come and visit Accessible Housing’s innovative housing solution for people with limited mobility.

Aug 16: Wheels & Wheelies @ Bridgeland Riverside Community Association (917 Centre Ave NE) 2:30-6:30pm. Use whatever wheels you have to come over to this week’s farmers market, featuring bike, wheelchair, walker, scooter, skateboard, etc. decorating, tricks, and tips.

Aug 17: The Parent Trap @ Kensington Summertime Outdoor Movie Series (1210 Kensington Rd NW) 9pm. Bring your own chair and enjoy this free movie.

Aug 18: Korean Day Festival @ West Hillhurst Community Association (1940 6 Ave NW) 10am-6pm. Korean food, K-pop contest, performances and martial arts demonstrations.

Aug 18: Sandstock @ Sandstone Park (99 Sandstone Dr NW) 1-5pm. Free live music and an artisan market, in a family festival atmosphere.

Aug 18: Love Your Library Day @ All Calgary Public Library Locations, 10am-2pm. Tours, special guests, music, collaborative art, and more to celebrate everything your library brings to your community. There will also be a refer-a-friend prize draw, the winner of which receives a number of prizes, including late fine forgiveness!

Aug 18: Pre-Eid Bazaar @ Akram Jomaa Islamic Centre (2612 37 Ave NE) 11am-7pm. Henna, clothing, jewelry, food and more.

Aug 18: Chinatown Street Festival @ 328 Centre St SE, 9am-6pm. Cultural Performances, merchants, and family fun.

Aug 18: Franco Festival Calgary @ Olympic Plaza (917 Centre Ave NE) 11am-9pm.  A celebration of the numerous francophone cultures and communities in Calgary. Workshops, performances, and more.

Aug 18: Calgary Thunderbird Club Show ‘n’ Shine @ Richmond Knob Hill Community Association (2433 26 Ave SW) 10am-2pm. A full range of Classic Fords to ogle.

Aug 18-19: Alberta Open Farm Days @ Various farms. Meet our rural neighbours, tours farms and watch demonstrations. has all of the info.



Aug 15: Avengers Infinity War @ Spruce Meadows. Gates open at 7:30 pm, movie starts around 9pm (sunset). $20 admission per carload, or you can buy tickets in advance through for only $15.

Aug 16: The Food Realm @ Blank Page Studio (1221 Kensington Rd NW) 5-9pm. This is a weekly food truck gathering. Admission is free, food will be sold at regular prices from the trucks.
