Description:

Calgary Alternative Day Options is looking for experienced and outgoing people to support adults with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders in the community. Responsibilities include supporting them to pursue their interests, maintain healthy relationships and explore recreational and vocational opportunities.

The schedule is Monday through Friday with shift times being approx. 9:00 am - 3:00 pm - both full-time and part-time shifts are available. 

The hourly pay rate for this position begins at $18.40 and will increase to $20.25 upon completion of a successful probationary period (3 month) and completion of mandatory training and required documentation. 

All CASS staff are required to provide a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check. 

 

 

Required Education:
Disability Studies Diploma or equivalent

Required Training:

Successful applicants will complete mandatory training within 3 months of hire: Emergency First Aid; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Health and Safety; Abuse Awareness; Introduction to Your Role; Challenging Behaviours (Part I&II). The majority of these course are offered either online or in-house.

Experience:
Previous experience providing supports to individuals with autism is an asset

Other Required Skills:
A valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle is required for some positions. Knowledge of public transit is an asset.
