Description:

Calgary Alternative Residential Services is looking for an experienced and outgoing person to support an adult with developmental disabilities to participate in activities in the community as well as increasing the individual’s knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). Previous experience in the disability field and fluency in ASL is preferred. Basic ASL is required.

The schediule for this position is Monday through Friday 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm.

 

All CASS staff are required to provide a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check. 

Required Education:
Disability Studies Diploma or equivalent

Required Training:

Successful applicants will complete mandatory training within 3 months of hire: Emergency First Aid; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Health and Safety; Abuse Awareness; Introduction to Your Role; Challenging Behaviours (Part I&II). The majority of these course are offered either online or in-house.

Experience:
Previous experience in the disability field and fluency in ASL is preferred. Basic ASL is required.
