Community Support Worker - Day Program

Calgary Alternative Support Services (CASS) is continuously looking for enthusiastic people for our Day Program. The Community Support Worker will support a diverse clientele in the community by helping maintain positive mental health, participating in new activities and developing friendships. 

Schedules can fluctuate depending on client needs, but typically run Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm. 

Initial pay rate begins at $18.40/hour and will increase to $20.25 upon completion of a successful probation period (3 months), completion of mandatory training, and submission of required documentation.

All CASS staff are required to provide a Police Information and Vulnerable Sector check. CASS will accept Police & Vulnerable sector checks completed within the last six (6) months.  

Required Education:
Disability Studies Diploma or equivalent.

Required Training:

Successful candidates will complete mandatory training within 3 months of hire: Emergency First Aid; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Health and Safety; Abuse Awareness; Introduction to Your Role; Challenging Behaviours (Part I&II). The majority of these course are offered either online or in-house.

Previous experience in providing community support to adults with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Other Required Skills:
Must have valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
