Hi Everyone,

The Christmas light displays are starting up for the season—for a fairly comprehensive list of displays, go to https://www.familyfuncanada.com/calgary/christmas-light-displays-in-calgary/ and bask in the early nights as we head into winter.

International Day of People with Disabilities is just around the corner—this years’ event is being held at the New Central Library this year on Monday December 3, from 10:30am-3:30pm. Featuring art, performances, information tables, and more! Come and celebrate! See poster attached for more details.

Don’t forget that the CASS client holiday party is coming up onDecember 13th, from 5-8 pm, at the Crossroads Community Association (1803 14 Ave NE) Ugly Christmas Sweaters are encouraged, but not necessary, just bring yourself and your holiday spirit! Dinner and dancing will be involved as usual,  and there will be small gift baskets raffled off at the event again this year, so bring a few dollars if you want to take part in the raffle.

Please RSVP by calling the CASS office at (403) 283-0611or emailing reception@c-a-s-s.org by December 1st so that we can make sure that we are planning for the right amount of people.

The Crossroads Community Association is served by Calgary Transit Access and Calgary Transit bus routes #19 & #33. You can plan your trip on www.calgarytransit.com , or contact me via email or by calling the office to help you navigate there and back. There is also plenty of parking at the venue.

Please note that while this event will not be serving alcohol, it is an 18+ only event.

Dec 6: An Overview of Inclusive Post-secondary Education: Promoting Higher Learning for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities @ The Ability Hub (#300, 3820 24 Ave NW) 6:30-8:30pm. Dec 8: Ultimate Christmas Market @ The Genesis Centre (7555 Falconridge Blvd NE) 10am-6pm.

Dec 9: Holiday Fest ‘n Film @ St Patrick’s Island. The Fest part is from noon-2, followed by the movie part (Smallfoot) from 2-4. Bring your own blankets/cushions/seating and warm up by the fire pits. https://www.evexperience.com/new-events/2018/12/9/holiday-fest-n-film has all of the info.

December 9: NorthWestival @ University District Discover Centre (4410 University Ave NW) 1-6pm. Activities, cabane a sucre stations, hay rides, food trucks and more. Dec 9: “Calgary Through the Eyes of Writers” Book Launch @ New Central Library (800 3 St SE) 2pm. Learn about Calgary and some of the great authors that write from here. Dec 5: Annual Food Bank Benefit Show @ The Ship & Anchor Pub (534 17 Ave SW) 9pm. Bring a non perishable food item or cash donation to get in to this local music event.

Dec 8: Toy Drive for the Women’s Centre of Calgary @ The Palomino (109 7 Ave SW) Doors @ 8pm. Admission to this live local music event is either $15 or an unwrapped gift for a kid 0-17. This venue is 18+. http://thepalomino.ca/events/palominos-annual-toy-drive-womens-center-calgary

Dec 9: Teddy Bear Toss @ Scotiabank Saddledome (555 Saddledome Rise SE) 2pm. Cheer on the hitmen and bring a teddy bear to donate to a local hospital or charity. Game tickets are $15. http://hitmenhockey.com/teddy-bear-toss

Dec 9: Roller Dance Session @ Vecova (3304 33 St NW) 11am-2pm. Admission is $12 +gst, and skate rentals are $5.
