Here are some ideas for outings and fun things for the week of August 26 to September 2:


  • Jul 2-Oct 15: Farmers Market @ Triwood Community Association (2244 Chicoutimi Dr NW) 3-7pm. Runs every Tuesday throughout the summer.
  • August 28 - 31  (7:00pm): BUMP Festival - This festival celebrates the third year of the Beltline Urban Mural Project. It's four days of talks, tours, music and film. It's at multiple venues, depending on the day. For more information:
  • August 30 (12:00pm-8:00pm), August 31 (10:00am-9:00pm) and September 1 (12:00pm-4:00pm): Fiesta Filipino - at Olympic Plaza, join in on the fun of one of the most colorful and biggest street party. Experience the sights, sounds and flavors of Filipino culture.
  • August 31 (11:00am-6:30pm)- September 1 (11:00am-5:00pm): BBQ on the Bow -  At Montgomery Community Association, enjoy Canada's oldest BBQ festival! Free admission into the festival. There will be food trucks, BBQ competitions, vendors and live music. For tickets and more information:


  • August 27 (9:00am-12:00pm): Archaeology in the Park Tour: Finding the Pioneers - At Bow Valley Ranche, take a 3 hour guided tour and learn about historic Calgary. Admission: $30
  • August 28 (10:00am & 6:45pm): Harry Potter at Canyon Meadows Cinemas - the theater will screen one out of eight films at the two showtimes. Admission: $5
  • August 29 (8:00pm): Lars Callieou -  at the Laugh Shop at Hotel Blackfoot, comedian Lars Callieou is in the house. Admission: $12.95-$19.95
  • August 31 (11:00am-2:00pm): Pride Brunch -  join drag performer Ann Xiety at Brewsters Downtown (834 11 Ave SW) for a $10 brunch and live entertainment.
  • September 1 (10:30pm): The Rocky Horror Picture Show -  At Globe Cinema (617 8 Ave SW) Admission: $15-$20 - for more information:
  • September 1 - 7: Le Burger Week Calgary: a burger festival that takes place every year. Try a bunch of unique burgers and you get a vote which one is your favorite. Admission is free (tickets needed) at various restaurants, just pay for your burger. For more information:
