Hi Everyone,

Don’t miss Family Fun Day at Rotary Challenger Park, this Saturday June 23! Admission Barbecue and Parking are all free, and so are the entertainment, hay rides, wheelchair sports demonstrations, mini train, line dances, and everything else under the sun! Please see the attached flyer for all of the info.

The Regal Cat Café is celebrating their first anniversary, and all visits will be 25% off from June 9-23, leading up to their “Anni-purr-sary” on June 24. http://www.regalcatcafe.com/  has all of the info.

Canada day is coming up this week, and there are a lot of activities going on in and around downtown for you to enjoy. You can see the full city of Calgary Event listings here: http://www.calgary.ca/CSPS/Recreation/Pages/Events/Canada-day.aspx there is also a comprehensive list of road closures that will be in effect throughout the weekend to help you plan your commute.

There are discounted Calgary Transit day passes available for pre-purchase for July 5-15 to help people get all of their Stampeding in this year. They cost $6.50 and are available at 7-11, Macs, Safeway, City Hall and Calgary Transit Customer Service Centre. If you don’t want to pre-purchase the passes, they will also be available directly from the ticket vending machines a C-Train stations on the days that they are valid.

Jun 26: Jazz Tuesdays @ Stephen Ave (between Centre St & 1 St SE) Noon-1pm. There is a different artist to check out every week throughout the summer.

Jun 26: The Market on Stephen Ave (340 8 Ave SW) 10am-4pm. Take a stroll down Stephen Ave and see what weird and wonderful vendors are around town.

Jun 26-Jul1: Pan American Tournament @ Spruce Meadows. If you need public transportation to attend this event, there will be a Red Arrow Shuttle Bus that picks passengers up at the NE corner of the Somerset-Bridlewood C-train station throughout the event. Jun 27: Downtown Summer Stage @ Stephen Ave (between Centre St & 1 St SE) Noon-1pm. There will be a different local musician, spanning a number of genres every Wednesday throughout the summer.

Jun 29: Dilawri Detour Weekly Car Show @ Stephen Ave (300 block, 8 Ave) 11am-3pm. Each week a different car dealership will be bringing out their unique cars to fawn over. The schedule can be found here: https://distinctivecollection.ca/dealership/news/dilawri-detour.htm

Jun 29: Americana Roots Performance Series @ Stephen Ave (between Centre St & 1 St SE) Noon-1pm. This weekly series of local, live, outdoor performances is curated by Matt Masters, on Stephen Ave throughout the summer.

Jun 30: 60’s Block Party @ Calgary Tower. 11am-4pm. Free ice cream, music, and 50% off admission to the Calgary Tower observation deck.

Jun 30: Sunalta Summer Soko @ Sunalta Community Centre (1627 10 Ave SW) Noon-7pm. This market features crafts, arts, food, all many more Alberta-made goods, all set to music picked by DJ Butta.

Jun 30: Farmers & Makers Market @ cSPACE (1721 29 Ave SW) 10am-3pm. Over 50 vendors, live music, and interactive art activities.

Jun 30: Downtown Through the Decades @ Stephen Ave (between Centre St & 1 St SE) 1pm-4pm. Yet another weekly music series on Stephen Ave. This particular one explores Calgary’s history through music.

Jun 25: Beginner Golf Nights @ McCall Lake (1600 32 Ave NE) 5-7pm. Get all of your game and etiquette tips over 9 holes. You will want to book your tee times 4 days in advance, green fees are $16 for an adult. Regular Fee Assistance cards are not accepted at city golf courses, you will need to call 311 to request a specific Fee Assistance Golf Card if you would like to get a discount.

Jun 29-Aug 19: Shakespeare by the Bow @ Prince’s Island Park. This year Theatre Calgary will be presenting “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” on a pay-what-you-will basis. The play will run Tuesdays-Saturdays at 7pm, and twice on Sundays, at 2pm and 7pm. Jun 30: Brewery Tour & Tasting @ Tool Shed (Unit 9, 801 30 St NE) Noon -2pm. Tickets are $15 and get you a tour through the whole operation and samples of all of the beers made there.
