Happy Disability Pride Parade, everyone!

I can’t wait to see y’all out on Sunday June 3rd! Parade attendees will be meeting at 11 am at the Bankers Hall Galleria (315 8 Ave SW).  If you want to join the CASS group for the parade, you can find us near the white tree sculptures, with purple and yellow balloons.  If you want to be a part of the party but can’t take part in the parade, everyone will be partying at Olympic Plaza until 2pm. Please let the organizers know that you will be coming by going to https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/disability-pride-2018-tickets-43249011959?aff=eios&ref=eios and clicking on the “Register” button.

Did you know that there is a Community Response Team and Mobile Response Team for crisis support in Calgary? If you or someone you know needs crisis supports for mental health struggles, please access them by calling 1-800-563-6106, texting 587-315-5000, or using their live chat option VIA www.woodshomes.ca/crisis . This resource is meant for both imminent crises- to access timely assessments instead of waiting for hours at an ER, and for support before a crisis occurs. The lines are open to everyone, and provide:

  • 24/7 crisis phone support
  • Family visits (in-home or community)
  • Brief crisis supports (1-3 visits)
  • Timely, accessible, and flexible services
  • Suicide risk assessments
  • Ongoing phone supports for adults with mental health struggles or developmental delays
