Hi everyone, I am not sure if all of you are aware of this but CADO has been facilitating a basic cooking class that runs eight weeks. We concluded our second session in June and it was another great success. The FALL session will be a continuation of basic cooking with a perhaps a few different cooking options from the last session. Folks who finished participating in session two are invited to register again and continue on as well as other folks who may be interested. This class is open to all CASS clients and external clients. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged and the cost is $55.00 for the eight week course – this will cover ALL course costs. If you know of someone who would like to register or you would like to know more about the course content/outline please use our website contact form.

Effective July 1, 2010 our Benefits policy will be renewed with reduced rates for our employees and a new renewal date of July 1st each year.We are hosting two employee information sessions on Thursday, July 15, 2010

 

Session 1:              9:00 am to 10:00 am

Session 2               5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

 Location:               Boardroom, CASS Office, Kensington Road

 

You are invited to choose one session to attend to receive your new benefit booklets, service availability from GWL, PVS Service Cards, Out of Country medical information and a copy of the new rates. This session will also provide information on plan coverage, how to use the GWL site to look up benefit usage and coverage availability for the current year, how to print employee and spousal cards – and a whole lot more!

 

We are happy to have representatives from both Great West Life and Renfrew Insurance on site and available for all of your questions. In a recent benefits survey that we sent to you there were many questions about benefits and coverage that you will have the opportunity to ask about at these sessions.

Exciting news for all CASS staff and clients:

A few years ago CASS created a cookbook which was used to raise money for our Clients for Christmas baskets.  This cookbook was created by CASS staff, clients, and family members. The cookbook was a huge success and holds many recipes dear to both staff and clients. .................and yes you guessed right ………………………………………………it is time for the
 Re-release……………………………….

  All proceeds will be put towards
“Holiday” baskets that will be created for some of our
CASS clientele for the 2010 season.
Remember a cookbook is a great way to say" I love you” and
“Happy  Labour Day”

CASS is participating in a Community Resource Fair at the Centre Street Church. The CARS, CADO and CAES programs will be in attendance as exhibitors.Our exhibit booth will be open from 3 pm to 4pm and also from 6pm to 7pm. The Resource Fair requires no admission to attend.

As you may have noticed, www.c-a-s-s.org has a new look.

Every CASS employee will receive a personalized account for the new website. If you haven't received your account information via your c-a-s-s.org email address yet, you will soon. In the meantime, if you need to access your webmail account, just go to webmail.c-a-s-s.org there's no need to log in to the website first.

This new website should do everything the old one did and much more, including the tracking of your training requirements for your position(s).

It looks like PDD is pushing funding cuts to service providers. I wouldn't want to tell you what to do but there is a list of all the MLA's in the province and there e-mail accounts so if you would like to talk with them they are available to you and you can explain what the cuts actually mean.
